Meet Annabelle
Hi, my name is Annabelle. I was adopted with my sister Jasmine.
Here are some things you should know about me.
1. I love to sit in a lap. Once there I will nudge scratch you until you pet me.
2. I do not like to meet new dogs. I will bark at them until they go away. This upsets my sister, because she thinks we should all be friends. I have no interest in them and will not be making any resolutions about being more friendly.
3. I love meeting new people so I usually go up to them and act as cute as I can to get petted and adored.
4. I am very determined. Once I set my mind to do something I will keep working until I succeed. If I don't get my way, I pout.
5. I am a picky eater. Do not serve me anything chicken flavored please.
6. I love to chew but I am not as destructive as my sister.
7. Grandma is the best! Jasmine is correct about that.
8. I am very active and like being the center of attention.
9. I am the boss, don't believe my sister. My nickname is "Annaboss".
10. I like to chase people's toes. I don't know why.
11. I can't jump as high as my sister but I can climb. Those crazy humans try to keep me behind a pet gate. I can get out whenever I want and often I do.
12. I like to bark. Another one of my nicknames is "Loud mouth".
13. I do many things to annoy my sister. One of my favorites is to take her toys away. It's really cool when I can trick her away from them.
14. I am the creative problem solving one.

Meet Jasmine
My name is Jasmine. I am a Jack Russell-Yorkie mix who was surrendered to the animal shelter when I was 10 weeks old. Who would part with a sweetie like me? I had 2 sisters and 1 brother who ended up at the shelter with me. We were all adopted to good homes. Here are some things you should know about me.
1. I love to have my belly rubbed. My family doesn't think I have a limit on the amount of time you have to rub me. Once you start, I will keep nudging you to keep going until you get up and walk away. I forgive you when you go because I understand that humans have no stamina or attention spans.
2. I like to meet new dogs. Sometimes my sister gets in the way, but I want to be your friend, really I do.
3. I am unsure of new people so I usually bark when I first see you. I never bite or get mean. In fact, if you come over to say hello, I will stand behind my human and try to ignore you. My New Year's resolution is to say hi to at least one new person every day. I hope a lot of you have dogs so I can make friends with them too.
4. I have a very good memory. Once I have met you or your dog, I will remember you next time I see you.
5. I love to eat.
6. I love to chew and I can chew through anything once I get my mind on it.
7. Grandma is the best!
8. I am content and independent.
9. I am the boss, don't believe my sister.
10. I am called "The Tongue". Warnings are delivered to watch out for the fastest tongue in the western hemisphere. If you come, I will lick you quick and often.
11. I can jump very high. However, I never try to jump over fences or gates. I am content to be where I am supposed to be.
12. I am the first one to meet new kids. While I will jump and lick adults, I am gentle and would not do this to a young child.
13. I am the sweet one.
New Year, new updates
So, I start a blog and then do not BLOG. Very bad. Jasmine, Annabelle, and I will try to update weekly including updating what has happened over the past 5 months. For one, husband went from job that fit me but not him, to no job which fit him but not me, to new job that fits everyone including the puppies. Happy New Year! Thanks for visiting.

How did I end up with these puppies?
My husband lost his job after working for way too many years in a career that just didn't fit him anymore. Having worked for almost 30 years, he jumped into the first new job that came along. It was a night stocking position (for the man that falls asleep at 9:00p.m. and wakes up at 5:30). He tried it for a couple of weeks and while he was having trouble with the sleeping schedule, I figured he would fight on get used to it and stay there for a few months.
I was home alone at night and asked when we could discuss "a new dog" (we lost our dear Dusty about 3 years ago and I still miss him dearly). He said, "Let's see how the job works out for a little while."
Well, he should have described "a little while" because here's what happened. I went on the animal shelter's web site to see if they had any small breed younger dogs. They had a litter of yorkie-jack russell terriers that were 10 weeks old. "How did they end up in a shelter?" Our former best friend had been a yorkie and he was so great, "Let's just go look!".
The next day we went to the shelter to see them. Looked everywhere, even in the cat palace...no puppies. We asked the lady at the desk who said, "How did you hear about them? They are not available yet." Apparently, they were not supposed to have been on the web site, they were only posted for about 15 minutes before being removed, and I just happened to be looking at that exact time. What are the odds? It was meant to be. Right?
Two days later we were called by the lady who approves applications. She loved our application and gave us information to contact the foster mom and go visit with them.
Two days later we were playing with four crazy puppies.
The next day we informed the shelter we were interested. She said they would not be available for two-three more weeks because they were too little to get spayed. "Great, two weeks to get ready." NOPE!
The next day we were called and told we could come pick them up at the shelter. The vet said it may take a while for them to get big enough so they were letting them go without the spaying. "What, wait, now I have to get a crate, food, etc. I have never had two dogs.
Did a little bit of internet research on two crates or one crate etc. All I could find is information saying DO NOT ADOPT LITTERMATES! I'm either in denial, stubborn, or dumb but I did not back out. I still felt the way this all happened was meant to be. If you think about something too long, you can always talk yourself out of it and miss out on something grand.
So, we went to the pet store and picked up what we needed to start with. Then we went and picked up our two new family members. Now our true adventure begins.
